WITCHES' MOON

The incessant creak of an empty rocker

In another space

The sound of whispers down the hall

Things haunt this place

A turning doorknob; a creaking hinge

Footsteps on the porch

Scratching sounds on panes of glass

Visions of a burning torch

Blood dripping from the bathroom spigot

Drumming on the basin

Clock chimes the midnight hour

The time for haunting hastens

A chorus of voices cry from the cellar

Screams of awful pain

Thunder rattles; rain falls; lightning flashes

The rattling of dungeon chains

Steps cross the hardwood floor, slow and loud

Heard from an empty room

The rain stops and the dark clouds clear

Exposing a witch’s silver moon

A hag’s black cauldron boils with a mystic brew

Hidden in a secret space

Images bubble upon the brewing surface

Fearing hearts begin to race

A spell is cast; a fate is sealed; on this moonlit night

The hag’s desires will commence

Hearts beats loud as the imagination creates

Things out of nothing adding to the suspense

In the distance the curdling howl of the wolf-man

The moon lights his way

Blood-thirsted desire is upon his breath

His killings will come before light of day

Vampire bat with wings of black flying in the night

Transforming into human things

Fangs hidden behind his smiling lips

Until the victim feels their sting

The witch’s moon hangs in the sky glowing ever so bold

The cauldron bubbles with evil keen

The witch’s moon; a large silvery, evil orb

Lighting the evils of this night; the night of Halloween

Trying to pull a fast one on me Huh WB? You can't post a witchy tale on the hubs without me getting to see it first. Good job my friend, I think I like what this season brings out in your writings. Happy Halloween, All Hallows Eve, Samhain, Sowen and All Saints Day. May your ghosts be corpreal, and your goblins be candy coated. Blessed Be WB.

Keep On Hubbing. Blake4d

@blake4d...There's no sneaking such crazed acts of literary floundering by you, Blake....no way. You can smell the presence of such things. I am certain of that! LOL! Thanks much, my man. I apprecate the read and the good words. WB
